Sally Palmer
The Nature Conservancy / Host Committee Member
Sally Palmer is a nonprofit leader with over 25 years’ experience driving strategic conservation initiatives at state, regional, and federal scales in the U.S. In her current role, Sally leads the design and execution of federal agency engagement strategies across eighteen states and advocates for Congressional support of policies and funding that invest in natural resources and communities across the Appalachian region. She works actively to build and support coalitions to advance public policy and funding initiatives, including opportunities to leverage private capital investments in the Appalachians towards conservation outcomes. She was a member of the 2014 task force which updated “Conservation by Design,” The Nature Conservancy’s approach to implementing the organization’s strategic direction. Sally received her B.A. in Biology from Vanderbilt University and her M.A. in Ecology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
